Foil Faced Mineral Fibre Slabs & Aluminium
Ductwork shall be insulated with PAROC Hvac slab, secured, joints sealed with self-adhesive foil tape, covered with 0.7mm stucco aluminium cladding. (other thickness and finishes available).
components:
Self-Adhesive Base Insulation Hangers
Self-Adhesive Base Hangers are designed to efficiently fix insulation to metal, attenuators, enclosures and smooth sound substrates. Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of dust, grease, oil and any other loose matter before the Hangers are applied.
PAROC Hvac Slab AluCoat
Stone wool slab with reinforced aluminium foil facing.
Thermal insulation slab for ventilation ducts and equipment.
Bostik Idenden 10-88 General Purpose Adhesive
Bostik 10-88 General Purpose Adhesive is a general purpose brushing adhesive suitable for bonding most types of thermal insulation (including expanded polystyrene) to painted and unpainted steel, aluminium and galvanised ducting. It is also suitable for sealing overlaps of aluminium facings. Bostik 10-88 General Purpose Adhesive is composed of natural rubber in a blend of solvents. It is completely toluene free.

Self-Adhesive Aluminium Foil Tape
Bostik T74 High Tack Foil Tape has been developed to deliver instant adhesion, mouldability, durability and reliability even when applying at temperatures as low as -5°C.
Designed for use in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning sector, it is ideal for lap sealing foil faced insulation materials, both rigid and flexible.
It is manufactured to the highest specifications and is coated with a high tack pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive, which is protected by a removable release paper.
recommended insulation thickness in mm (particular project specifications may differ):
Chilled and dual-purpose ducts
BS5422:2009 (table 14) - Control Heat Transfer
Whilst it is impossible to account for all scenarios, the following act as general guides:
50mm thick
These thicknesses may not satisfy all criteria and design requirements.
Warm air ducts
BS5422:2009 (table 13) - Control Heat Loss
Whilst it is impossible to account for all scenarios, the following act as general guides:
Within Building 40mm thick, Plant rooms & external locations 50mm thick
These thicknesses may not satisfy all criteria and design requirements.
Chilled air in ambient conditions
BS5422:2009 (table 12) - Condensation Control
Whilst it is impossible to account for all scenarios, the following act as general guides:
Within Building 40mm thick, Plant rooms & external locations 50mm thick
(min air inside duct 15 degC)
These thicknesses may not satisfy all criteria and design requirements.
