KoolDuct - The advantages

The main advantages of KoolDuct® are:

Clean air
The airstream in KoolDuct's® hermetically sealed duct flows on only aluminium making it ideally suited for high specification projects.

Airtight
The technology of KoolDuct® panel, the methods of construction, the complete line of accessories, etc. produce a system where the air leakage is reduced to a fraction compared to sheet metal ducting. KoolDuct® ducting easily meets the leakage requirements of DW142 - Class C High Pressure (British Standard).

Strong
The density of the KoolDuct® phenolic foam panel is 55-60 kg/m3 and is bonded with reinforced aluminium sheets.  KoolDuct® ducting is self-supporting and does not require any bracing.

Better insulations
KoolDuct® aluminium ducting is 22mm & 33mm thick (+/- 2mm) with 55 to 60 kg/m3 density. It has a thermal conductivity = 0.021 W/mK (at 10ºC), making it far superior to most other types of insulation.

Electrical consumption savings
Reduced air leakage and the excellent insulating properties of KoolDuct's® phenolic foam panel will result in savings in heating and cooling loads.

Sound attenuation
KoolDuct® aluminium ducting is an excellent absorber of vibration and has good sound absorbing properties with temperatures from -100ºC to +100ºC.

Light weight
KoolDuct® aluminium ducting weighs approximately 1.4kg/m3 compared to over 10kg/m3 for sheet metal ducting.  This results in much lower handling costs and easier installation.

Space-saving
The integral insulation in the KoolDuct® system allows the duct to be installed flush to the ceiling and supporting structures.  No need for secondary application of insulation.

Versatile
KoolDuct® ducting is easily modified or repaired, can be manufactured and assembled on site, and requires only hand tools. It can be installed both internally or externally, concealed or visible.

Fire resistance
KoolDuct® ducting meets the British Standards for both fire and smoke.

Applications
KoolDuct® aluminium ducting can be used in commercial, residential, industrial applications, and also for special applications such as food industries, pharmaceutical, special clean air applications, hospitals etc. with temperatures from -100ºC to +100ºC.

Cleanable
KoolDuct® ducting can be cleaned and washed (with air and water hoses).

CFC-free
Testing and certification verify the non-existence of CFCs in KoolDuct® phenolic panels.
